Peter Holloran has more than 40 years’ experience in communications and marketing, thirty of which have been dedicated fully to the service of educational institutions. Peter is deeply committed to the development of authentic and powerful institutional identities and strong and consistent institutional expression. He joined Stevens Strategy in 2022 as our Senior Consultant for Strategic Communication & Brand Development. In 1993, he founded Cognitive Marketing Inc. The firm began exclusively serving colleges, universities and schools in 1998. There, Peter developed the Market Voicing Brand Development ProcessSM, specifically designed to meet the needs of educational institutions. Market VoicingSMis designed to strengthen an educational institution’s organizational identity and voice to the benefit of admissions, advancement, alumni relations and faculty and staff recruitment, and to win the approval of the institution’s numerous stakeholder groups in the process. His early career included worked at General Electric Company’s famed in-house Advertising & Sales Promotion Operation. He later built an in-house Marketing Operation at the National Flood Insurance Program in Washington, DC and served in account supervision positions at ad agencies BBDO and Young & Rubicam. Peter is a graduate of Gettysburg College, (BA English) and Syracuse University’s Newhouse School (MS Advertising).
